VCDC is proud to welcome Daffodil Gardens Phase II to our portfolio.

June 2020 - Daffodil Gardens Phase II is the most recent addition to a 26-acre human service campus that includes Bay Aging’s existing Daffodil Gardens as well as an adult day care facility and accessible, subsidized public transportation services connecting the community to area destinations. The project involves the new construction of a 40-unit affordable housing development with enriched services for elderly households in Gloucester, VA.

VCDC provided $3,805,351 in LIHTC equity through the Housing Equity Fund of Virginia XXIII, LLC to the total development cost of $7,472,719. Project sponsor and developer, Chesapeake Bay Housing, Inc. is the housing affiliate of Bay Aging, a leader throughout Virginia in blending supportive human health and community-based services with affordable, efficient, quality rental housing. Daffodil Gardens Phase II helps meet critical affordable housing needs in Gloucester County, an area with very low rental vacancy and increasing housing costs.
